Legacy For Purpose Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in the spring of 2025 by a small group of friends following the tragic and unexpected loss of someone deeply loved. In the midst of grief, we came together with a shared belief that a meaningful legacy can be built through action—by turning remembrance into purpose and loss into opportunity.

Our foundation exists to celebrate the lives of those who have left a lasting impact on their communities by creating pathways for others to succeed. We do this by developing and executing fundraising events that directly support scholarship and grant programs for students pursuing careers in the skilled trades. These careers are essential, often overlooked, and perfectly reflect the values of hard work, craftsmanship, and service to others.

The John Beebe Memorial Scholarship/Grant Fund is the heart of our mission. John was known throughout the Kalamazoo community for his kindness, his willingness to help, and the giant smile he brought with him wherever he went. A true “jack of all trades,” John had a special passion for automobiles and auto mechanics, but no matter the task, he approached his work with care and pride. Through this fund, we honor his life by supporting students who share that same hands-on drive—ensuring that John’s legacy lives on through purpose, opportunity, and service.
